For many of us family is everything. Our genes and family history have made us what we are today, whether its eye color, hair color, medical history, or a family tradition of being a teacher or a cop.

Do you know your family history? Do you know what your parents and grandparents did for a living? What they did for hobbies? How your grandmother and grandfather met and fell in love?

Perhaps like many of us you have a box full of old loose family pictures, some of which contain names and perhaps a date, but most with no written notes. Some of them are very intriguing. Oh, to have the story that goes along with them!

So, what do you do if your ancestors are all gone? Well, see if you have cousins or other relatives that may be able to help you fill in the gaps. Also, you can learn from your experience and try to make sure your grandkids don’t have the same kind of experience.
